New KS2 Take-Home Readers
KS2 pupils and staff, would like to say a huge thank you to the Friends of Cams Lane, for the money that they provided for our new Take-Home Readers. Our Key-Stage 2 stock had become very depleted, and out of date!
It’s been lovely, to have specifically chosen, age-appropriate Reading for Pleasure books in our classes.
They have made great displays, highlighted by lovely new sparkly lights, but much more importantly, have renewed the children’s interest and enthusiasm for reading. So much so, that some pupils have gone out and bought books by the new authors that they have been introduced to!
So far, the books have remained in our classes, where pupils have enjoyed looking/reading some of them and making recommendations to their friends. After Easter, if we can bear to do it, they will be coming home as Take-Home Readers!!
Year 3’s fully loaded bookshelf and new display, with sparkly lights…
Year 4, already doing reviews of their lovely new books…
Year 5, cupboard doors, awaiting reviews and tempting the children with displays of some of the front covers…
Year 6, with just some of lovely new Hot off the Press books, ready for choosing…
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
