We welcomed 4 little duck eggs on Tuesday, in Year One. We did not have to wait long! We had a special arrival on Wednesday morning. Our first little duckling had hatched. Shortly, followed by the children getting to see the other 3 hatch throughout the rest of the day. The following days, the children have watched them grow and gain their own little personalities. They have watched them swim in the water and had lots of cuddles. Miss Partington even sent the class a video of them in her bath. The rest of the school had a chance to experience the ducklings for cuddles in the hall. We will be sad to say goodbye. What a lovely experience this has been for all the children.

We learnt how to care for the ducklings as well as many facts about ducks. We wrote a non-chronological report to tell visitors facts about ducks. We also wrote a duck diary recounting what happened each day.
