Eggciting Celebrations - April 2026

Before we broke up for the Easter half-term holidays, we had a few very fun-packed days.

We had our sponsored bunny hop to help the Easter bunny save Easter, arranged by the Friends of Cams Lane (FCL). The children had to navigate the obstacle course and help collect the eggs, so he would be able to deliver them to the children on time.

We had our Easter bonnet decorating competition, again arranged by the FCL. The children enjoyed parading their bonnets to the rest of the children and, with designs as amazing as all of ours, it was no surprise that we had one of the winning designs.

We had an Easter egg hunt outside, where children had to hunt for an egg, all before winning a prize. This was arranged by our School Council.

We had our provision set up with Easter-themed activities, with lots of children enjoying designing their own Easter bunny and some children even going on to then write and describe theirs. We had lots of careful cutting and sticking with our chick and bunny challenge. We had Easter egg counting, a tricky word Easter egg hunt, and we had many children writing about what they plan to do over the Easter.

We had our golden treat afternoon, where we had the afternoon off timetable. The children chose outdoor provision and we decorated biscuits as an extra tasty treat.

We also had our attendance reward afternoon, for having great attendance over the current term. We didn't quite make it last term, so it was amazing to have improved the overall attendance of the class and to be able to celebrate that. This time, the children chose colouring pages of their favourite characters or interests, alongside all our indoor areas and resources. We had dancing and singing throughout the afternoon, before we finished the day with musical statues and bumps.
