Celebrations - World Book Day March 2026
Our World Book Day was filled with fun! The children looked amazing in their outfits. We read as many books as we possibly could, sharing the children's favourites in class, as well as some of their favourites from home. All the adults got involved, taking it in turns to read stories. All the children had a go at drawing themselves in their costumes and writing who they had chosen and why.
Alongside our World Book Day activities, for Spring 2 we have a Traditional Tales focus, so each week the children explore a different tale. We have so far explored The Three Little Pigs and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We explore these texts through reading them, acting them out, reading alternate versions and discussing the similarities and differences. For Goldilocks, we even had our own porridge tasting test and most of the children wanted to eat all the chocolate porridge, just like Goldilocks did with Baby Bear's porridge. After our taste test, the children drew their porridge and wrote about its flavour, colour, what it had in it or why they liked it.
